What to send where

Corrections and methodology questions. If a figure looks wrong, a caveat is missing, or a comparison does not survive scrutiny, tell us. Material corrections are versioned and noted on the affected page. You can raise these by email or in the open on r/OpenDataCanada, where the working is visible to everyone.

Data and source requests. Every figure on this site traces back to a named public source, and most pages link the original government table. If you want the underlying numbers behind a specific chart, ask and we will point you to the table or send the extract.

Story tips. If a Canadian public dataset tells a story we have missed, send it. We work from primary sources — Statistics Canada, Health Canada, the Bank of Canada, provincial open-data portals, and the like — so a link to the table or release is the most useful thing you can include.

Press and republication. Charts and maps may be reproduced with attribution to Open Data Canada and a link back to the source page. For interviews or larger republication, email us first.
